Bourjois | Rouge Edition Velvet

Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet RRP £8.99 (Currently 3 for 2 at Boots)*
Lip products seem to be my ultimate favourite this month, mixing and matching colours and finishes and really experimenting with gorgeous colours. This week it’s all about the velvet lip and I’m talking Bourjois new lip additions the Rouge Edition Velvet. Rather striking colours, all very bright and rather intimidating to look at but once on the lips you get a swoon of colour that is simply show stopping.
These new lipsticks by Bourjois have a bold matte finish that just melts onto the lips, the texture is very soft and creamy. I didn’t think these would feel as moisturising as they do, the colour pay off is actually less than I had expected but for me more wearable. The reason why this lipstick is so moisturising is because it is enriched with pure pigments and evanescent oils, the formula remains light and delivers long lasting wear. The applicator has a slight dip in it collecting just enough product to cover the whole lip, it makes application very quick and easy although to build up the colour even more I did need to dip the applicator into the lipstick once more which really intensified that colour.
Once applied it looks pretty glossy but soon dries to a matte velvet finish, it feels very light and airy on the lips making you feel like your wearing nothing at all. I really love that in a lip product especially on days where I want to wear less makeup, a great tip for those days you don’t want to wear a lot of make-up is to go for a bold lip. The bold lip instantly freshens up your look and these Rouge Edition Velvets would be perfect to add that bright pop of colour that not only makes you look more fresh but more awake too.
There are 8 shades to choose from, as mentioned all very bold colours. I have; Peach Club which is described as a discreet pale orange, Hot Pepper which is an orangey-red and surprisingly not as bold as I had thought from looking at it in the bottle and lastly I have Ole Flamingo! a deep pink with a burst of raspberry, intense and surprising. Peach Club is definitely my favourite, I adore these shades for summer and they are right on trend!
Have you tried the Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvets? What are your thoughts on them?
