Mascara Must Haves

I thought I’d put a post up of my current favourite mascara but when it came down to choosing one I just couldn’t do it. I have been using both of these mascaras for the same amount of time and both have such great qualities I just couldn’t choose one over the other.

We all need a waterproof mascara for Summer so the first one to be mentioned is the Clarins Truly Waterproof Mascara, this is new this year and is a part of the Colours of Brazil Summer collection. I was particularly surprised with this one because I’m usually not a fan of waterproof mascaras, I find them to be quite harsh on my eyes and as you would imagine hard to remove but this mascara is nourishing and conditioning on my little lashes so it does just the trick. The packaging is oh so sleek and very chic indeed in fact it’s the most luxurious mascara I’ve ever tried. The wand is a thin oblong shape that is easy to use, I don’t know what it is but when I open it I get such a satisfying feeling, I know that sounds odd but seriously go to a Clarins counter and open it you’ll know what I mean when you do. How do my lashes look once I’ve applied this mascara? Long, luscious and perfect! This mascara adds enough volume to the lashes with one coat, perfect for day time it also really lengthens the lashes. I find that when I apply two coats it just intensifies my lashes further and doesn’t clump! Hallelujah!

The second mascara which I have been loving lately and wearing a lot at work is the Clinique Lash Power Feathering Mascara. This is a mascara that has been giving me lashes I never knew I had and is again a non clump mascara. As you can guess by the name this mascara is there to give your lashes a soft feathery look creating the perfect flutter and lash. The packaging is classic Clinique, it’s small and compact making it perfect for your make-up bag, the brush has many bristles and is fatter than the Clarins wand, the bristles coat each lash perfectly and shapes them beautifully, there’s nothing worse than a mascara wand that pulls your lashes in to all sorts of directions. I mentioned that I have been using this a lot during the day but you can add a few more coats for added drama, it still creates the most beautiful lash from root to tip.
Overall two very lovely mascaras, both very long wearing and create perfect lashes. I believe they will be made very welcome by all you ladies once you give them a try.
Have you tried any of these mascaras before, what’s your favourite?
