What I’m Wearing // The Nutcracker

Well, well, well what do we have here, a beauty post finally! I tell you what, I have just been so wrapped up with the kitchen and things lately I haven’t really had time for beauty so I made myself sit down the other day and actually put on some makeup for a change. I mean I have been wearing makeup but it’s the same old routine and I never seem to add any colour or any lashes so today it’s all about the eyes and of course I had to treat you all to a peek of the Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid lips!
Lets start with the base, I have a post coming soon on a few skin care products I have been using this winter so I won’t go into that but after the usual skincare ritual I applied a new favourite foundation of mine and that is the Laura Mercier Silk Creme foundation in Medium Ivory, I also have a post coming soon on this because It’s been amazing and my go to foundation the last few weeks so I can’t wait to tell you all about it. This foundation has a really nice amount of cover so I didn’t need to add any concealer at all, in fact I just popped on my Liz Earl Radiant Glow bronzer this is another little beauty that I have fallen in love with. I have been trying to shop my stash lately and this was just sitting in the drawers very sad and lonely so I thought I’d whip it out and it’s been working great for just warming up the complexion without going to overboard it’s also nice for adding a subtle glow as it has got a slight shimmer to it which I have been enjoying. Last product to finish up the base was my Mary Lou Manizer by The Balm, I had to use this beauty after all it is my favourite highlighter of all time, I make it my mission this year to find another because I use this one to death.
On to the eyes, I have actually had this palette since before Christmas and I’m so sorry I haven’t had the opportunity to share it with you until now. It’s The Nutcracker Act II Palette* by Clinique, I have to admit I don’t usually wear purples that often but when I do I find they just make my eyes pop and it goes really well. The eye shadows are so pigmented and so soft, literally the easiest shadows to blend out and my favourite shade of them all is the frosted silver it’s the perfect inner corner and highlight shade and again super pigmented. I used all four shades to create this look and I also used the pretty pink blush to add some colour to the cheeks, the slight shimmer adds a touch of sparkle to the look without being too overpowering. I believe this is a limited edition set so I’d check it out asap if you like it, there’s also another set with slightly lighter purple tones and just as stunning.
To finish the look I added my L’oreal super fine liner, Too Faced Better than Sex mascara and of course some lashes! I was sent a wonderful package from the lovely ladies at Girls With Attitude and I have to say I’m pretty in love with these lashes the style is called ‘Swept Away*’  and they really finish off the look well. Eyes done I had to add a lip colour and I have been dying to share these with you, it’s the Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid lipstick* in the shade Pure Hollywood it’s so comfortable to wear and is just stunning. As you can see it’s a matte finish and it lasts ages too!
I hope you enjoyed this makeup post, if you’d like to see more leave me a comment with the type of looks you’d like to see and I shall get creating!

  • Hey Liza! Do you know, purple is not my go to colour, as I always think it may look like I have been punched in the eyes. But these have been toned so well together, also you have blended these babies down to a T! Super gorgeous look on you and super gorgeous purples. Well done Clinique! xxx
