I have recently found myself using the same foundations and base products over and over again mainly because I have some foundations stashed away in my large Malm drawers which is in my bedroom and the rest are in my dresser which is in my spare room/dressing room. I have been using up most products in my dressing table stash but whilst searching for some other beauty items in my Malm drawers a few weeks back I came across the Laura Mercier Silk Creme foundation, I thought I’d grab it and give it another whirl. I do recall myself not being overly impressed the first time I used it hence why it ended up hidden away for quite some time but I’m actually really glad I reached for it again because I’ve really been enjoying it.
I think the main reason I popped this back in the drawer first time round was because it was in the middle of Summer and I wasn’t really after the satin finish it was giving me, in the Summer I’m all about dewy and glowing skin so that was enough to put me off the foundation for a little while. I also found that it did cling to dry patches a little and with my skin being combination I do often get the dry patch here and there, again I think that’s just to do with the finish of the foundation to be honest. That being said as mentioned I have been loving it lately, I have got around the slight cling to dry patches by wearing a heavy duty moisturiser and I have to say I have been loving it ever since.
What impressed me the most about this foundation and something I really noticed was how long lasting it is, recently I have found myself feeling a looking a little patchy after a long day at work… I just thought oh it’s probably the air conditioning and lack of touch ups throughout the day but now I realise it’s just the foundations I was using. Since using Silk Creme I have found that I don’t really need to touch up throughout the day, and it lasts a full 9-10 hours without looking patchy at all. I’m super impressed with this and have had so many compliments since changing up my foundation routine, huge thumbs up from me.
