Kitchen Conversion // The After

white kitchen kitchen before and after
The time is finally here for me to show you our new kitchen, I have to admit things aren’t fully finished yet as we are still waiting for a few bits to arrive but I simply couldn’t wait any longer to show you all as I’m just so in love with this new space, I’m going to keep it brief as I think the pictures can speak for themselves but I’ll talk you through a few things as we go along.
Let me just remind you of how everything looked before; dark, dull, and very small! The new kitchen is super bright and the space is now much bigger as we got rid of the garage and knocked both rooms into one, I have to say this was the best decision for us as we didn’t really use the garage and we now have a huge family and living space which we adore.
We have bought everything from new and completely scrapped everything from the old kitchen, we now have lots of new appliances, furniture and even cutlery.. if your going to do it you may aswel do it properly I say!
Mark did all of the electrics so we have snazzy lights pretty much everywhere, plinth lights, under unit lights and spot lights!
This is the utility area, it’s not quite finished yet but for now this is where the microwave and my Philips airfryer lives… I do need to buy a new microwave hence why it’s tucked away. Next to this area there is also a new downstairs toilet which is not complete yet, I shall do an update when this is done and show you the area when it’s finished.
Ever since starting my kitchen mission I have been obsessed with Pinterest as some of you may know and my favourite kitchen designs were all Scandinavian/Nordic so I tried to incorporate that into our kitchen. I thought these shelves looked pretty Nordic and I love the Feather & Twig picture we have on there, it adds a personal touch and goes beautifully with the wood worktops. You can also see my little Matryoshka egg timer on the top shelf there, isn’t she cute!
We are currently awaiting the delivery of our dining room chairs so for the time being we are using a couple of other pieces, this Ghost Chair  from MDM Furniture looks absolutely perfect in the new dining area I kind of wish we had four because it’s gorgeous! It’s such a chic piece, I aim to use this in my dressing room once the chairs arrive although I think it would still look fab in this room even when they are here it’s also surprisingly very comfortable, and I’m in love. I will show you the dining table area again once it’s complete, the table and chairs set we bought from Danetti as you may remember I mentioned in a few posts how hard I was finding it to get a white dining table set so I’m glad I finally found one it’s just what I was looking for.

Pinterest inspired again, we actually planned to just have a clock on this wall above the sofa but when these all arrived (originally for our living room) I decided it would look amazing in this room an it does. I really love gallery walls and I love how we can mix things up by having the picture ledges, we bought these from Ikea and the frames are from eFRAME. eFRAME have some really lovely frames and they also offer a print and frame service which is fab if you a bit like me and never know what size prints to buy so instead of buying the prints separately you can custom make your frame and print which is great. I really love the white borders we went for too and the black and white theme works perfectly in this room.
I’m seriously in love with this door stop, Vinny seems to love to push the door with force onto the wall so this was a must buy. It’s from BHS, I always love buying bits from BHS their home decor pieces are always really lovely and I always get so many compliments from people when they see pics from there.
So that’s it guys, I’m absolutely in love with our new kitchen and family room every time I walk into this space I smile feel so lucky that we were able to have done this to our home.
Was it what you expected, what do you think?
