I’ve been trying to think of a regular post idea that I can get up on the blog each week as I don’t seem to be very consistent with posts lately, I post quite regularly but some weeks more than others and I’ve also found myself writing less about beauty these days so I thought this would be a great way to start talking beauty properly again. Each week I’m going to post about my favourite products and items of the week with the odd home and fashion piece too, let me know if this is something you’d like to see every week and if you have any other ideas for regular features here on Glambeautys.
Benefit
I’ve been using quite a few new products on the eyes lately, skincare and makeup. I have found my eye area to be pretty dry and sensitive lately so an amazing product that’s been helping me this week is Benefit Puff Off, this is a cooling eye gel that basically smoothes over the area and irons out and fine lines and wrinkles. The cute design of this product is amazing and the little iron tip applicator really does cool the area nicely and also gives a great base before applying any makeup to the area. I’ve been using this product on and off for about month now and I can say that when I use it I see an improvement in the area and it’s also really pleasant to use and refreshing too. Another Benefit Product I’ve been giving a whirl this week is their new Rollerlash Mascara, this mascara has been created for those with straight lashes. You all know I have pretty curly hair which means I also have curly lashes already, I never use lash curlers or feel the need to make my lashes any curlier but I have found when using this it defines my lashes nicely without clumping or adding too much volume. I’d say it’s a great every day mascara and if you have straight lashes I’d definitely give it a go.
Bourjois
Bourjois is my all time favourite high street brand, the foundations and lip crayons have to be my all time favourite and I’m super glad they’ve brought out some new colour boost lip crayon shades for SS15. My favourite colour this week has been 07 Proudly Naked, you can probably guess why from the name… I love a nude lip! This shade is a super soft pink with a glossy finish, it’s like your lips but better and fuller it really does make my lips look very pretty and keeps them moisturised too. Bourjois have also brought out some new Colorband pencils, now these are basically a eyeshadow and liner in one. It’s a fantastic product and what I love most is that I can just swipe and go, the formula is creamy and easy to blend and it works well on the lid, waterline and lower lash line! At the moment there are 6 shades to choose from in this collection, being nude eye lover my favourite is 02 Brun Dadaiste it’s a really nice bronzey brown shade that just looks stunning day or night, huge thumbs up for these Colorband pencils!
Anastasia Beverly Hills
This week I’ve found myself wanting to make a bit more effort with my makeup, meaning I actually want to make myself look normal and not like a huge mess so I dug out my ABH contouring kits and got to work. I’m so in love with the new Cream contour kits, they blend so seamlessly together and really give the perfect contoured look without overdoing it. I would say you need to be quite careful with the lighter shades on the under eye area, I’d just say less is more but apart from that they are amazing. I’ve been using my Powder contour kit to set everything in place and I have to say my favourite shades in the palette have been the contouring colours, they’ve been working great and warming up my complexion with or without contouring. I’ve been using them as a general bronzer and I’ve loved the outcome of this, I seriously love ABH! (I’m not 100% sure when the cream kit will be available in the UK but I’m sure when it’s available on their site you can get it shipped to the UK so keep an eye out for that)
Tarte Cosmetics
Tarte is a brand that’s quite new too me, every product I’ve tried so far I’ve fallen in love with the latest being the Colored Clay Foundcealer in the shade light.. yes you heard correctly Foundcealer, a foundation and concealer in one. I never really thought I’d like this product, my initial thoughts were that it would be quite heavy and unnatural but it’s actually super light weight and the texture is like a light mousse texture which feels very smooth on the skin. I like to apply this with double ended brush that came with it which is a gem within itself, I’ve been obsessed with this brush it applies any foundation perfectly and the concealer end is great for small areas under the eyes ect. What I’ve been doing with the Foundcealer is applying a thin layer to my whole face then going back in with some more product on the concealer brush and just concentrating on the areas that need a little more cover and it’s been working great. The cover is medium on me and it gives an almost satin finish, I like to finish off with a lightweight powder and this combination has worked really well for me. It’s currently on sale for £26.96 which is a fantastic price considering you get a foundation/concealer brush and the Foundcealer itself!
Jewels and Hair Ties
Ah this week I’ve been in love with my rose goldesque bracelets from Lucky Eyes, I had been looking for some nice delicate bracelets to wear with my Daniel Wellington watch as it’s got Rose Gold Hardware and these just go perfectly with it. I have this gorgeous Gold Filled Beads bracelet which is very petite and pretty and I also have this Friendship bracelet with ‘Love’ written on it in crystal, it’s so nice to wear everyday. I’m not usually one to wear bracelets, I used to wear them all the time but since having Vinny my jewellery is pretty limited to just my wedding rings but this year I made a vow to accessorise more, it’s something I’ve always loved to do so no more plain Jane!
I’ve also been loving my new PopBand London bands, I have been using hairbands from PopBands for about two years now and these are the latest added to my collection, I really love the new fun SS15 colours they are super cute and if you haven’t tried out these hairbands before I’d highly recommend, for someone that likes to straighten their hair a lot I can tell you it’s such a relief to use a hairband that doesn’t kink you hair after all that hard work! They come in so many great colours and designs so go check them out!
What have you been loving this week, tried any of these yet?
