With Summer on it’s way I have been toying around with the idea of having my hair chopped off and brightened up a little. I did keep talking myself out of it until today, I thought let’s go for it hair grows! I went to my favourite salon Steven & Laurent, you may remember a post on my hair a few months ago now on my first transformation at Steven & Laurent. These guys never seem to fail me and always give me fantastic results, I’m so happy with my new style it’s so much lighter and I think it’s going to be much easier to style this Summer.
So here’s my before and after, I love doing these because you really get to see the transformation although I wish I took photos of the back to show you before and after because that’s even more of a transformation. As you can see before my hair was just looking a little lifeless and dull, I hadn’t had it coloured since February and as I had Balyage before it was looking like my roots were even longer! The style before was just long with a few layers, nothing too special as I usually focus on my colour and just grow my hair all the time. Today I fancied a change I wanted a long bob also known as The Lob, my hairdresser Sarah cut it so it was longer around the front of my face to frame it nicely and slightly shorter at the back and I love it! I haven’t had hair this short in a long time, I can’t wait to start having a play around with it and styling it more often. I was finding with my hair before I’d get so lazy with it because it took so long to do so I’m hoping I’ll have more time now and make a little more effort with the new style I have.
Moving on to the colour the blonde is now a lot fresher and brighter, even lighter in person I’d say. We went away from the Balyage this time and went blonde from root too tip, Sarah did foils down my parting and all around my hair line then painted some colour on free hand underneath for a more natural effect. Once the colour was washed off we added toner to make the colour look nice and creamy, It looks really fab I’m so happy with it!
What do you think of my new shorter do’? Have you thought about having the chop for the Summer?
