On a day to day basis my makeup stays pretty simple, I usually wear a slick of lip balm and possibly a touch of tinted moisturiser and to be honest I really enjoy it. I’ve actually got used to wearing less make up and I’m a lot happier these days without it, I used to never let anyone see me without makeup and I’d wear a tonne of it so for me to say that is quite a big thing but since becoming a mother I’ve changed in many ways and my make up style has to be one of them.
For days when I need to pop out but don’t want to cake myself in makeup I opt for a few products that give a subtle finish yet make me look alive and awake still. I will usually pop on a light weight foundation, something quite sheer but also something that will even out my skin tone and one I have been enjoying lately is the Pur Minerals Liquid Veil Foundation. This foundation is a spray on foundation so perfect if you are in a rush, you can either apply it directly or for a more precise application to a stippling brush first. It contains Liquid Crystals which help to retain moisture and reflect light, this was one of the things I really noticed when using this foundation it’s very dewy and perfect for those who love that finish, I don’t usually add a powder to set but for those with more oily skin this may be a step you don’t want to miss out.
To add some warmth to my face I pop on the Vita Liberata Trystal Minerals Bronzing Powder, I have written a full review here if you’d like to see it, this is a fab tanning bronzer that adds a subtle natural glow. Once my skin is bronzed I pop on a touch of blush to add some colour back into my cheeks, my favourite is this Tarte Amazonian Clay blush it’s long wearing and easy to apply as the colour is buildable, I’m not one to wear lots of blush so this adds just enough colour for me. Final step for the base is my Pur Minerals Afterglow Illuminating Powder, I have raved about this illuminator for a while now it’s a beautiful champagne gold shade that is very similar to The Balm Mary Loumanizer which you all know is my favourite. I actually prefer this for the day time because it’s a little less POW and a little more pretty and chic which is what I’m after during the day, the powder is finely milled and would work really well with many skin textures and complexions.
Onto the eyes and I keep things very minimal here, literally some mascara which in this case is Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara and if I really want to go all out I’ll add some lashes too (For this post I’m wearing Girls With Attitude natural lashes in ‘Sophisticated’) I don’t do this all the time but they do look pretty and make me feel less bare. I need to do something to my brows but instead of my usual brow pencil routine I will just add some Benefit Gimme Brow, this just tames my brows slightly and stops the hairs from going in all sorts of directions it also helps to fill them in slightly also.
To bring the whole look together I just finish it off with a nude lip, I love Mac Velvet Teddy it goes with so many makeup looks and especially well with a minimal barely there look. I lined then filled my lips here using a Rimmel liner to add a little more definition and help the lipstick last a little longer, it really does help the longevity of a lipstick and creates a really nice clean finish.
