18 Week Pregnancy Update

It’s been another easy week for me pregnancy wise and I also feel like I have my blogging mojo back, I tend to lose it every now and again but since I’ve announced this pregnancy I’ve gained a new lease of life and I’m super excited about what the future holds on this little ol blog! I can’t wait to share with you my plans and tell you about all the changes happening hopefully in the new year.

How far along? 18 weeks

Maternity clothes: Wearing maternity jeans quite a lot, I bought some from H&M when we went for our gender scan and I’ve been loving them they are super soft and comfortable to wear!

Sleep: I’ve slept pretty well, I’m back to my normal sleep pattern and often go to sleep around 9.30/10 pm I’m not really a night owl I love my sleep so the earlier the better and as soon as I hit that pillow I’m gone!
Miss anything? I can’t say I do really, I’m loving being pregnant and having a little baby in my belly.
Movement: Similar to last week, a bubble popping type feeling that I seem to feel throughout the day and night but some days more than others. I’ve read that’s pretty normal because baby is still quite small so he could be positioned differently sometimes more at the front and other times towards the back near my spine. Definitely feel something though.
Food cravings: Anything that involves meat! I have really fancied naughty foods this week but I’ve been quite good and only had a Mc Donalds… definitely could have had one every night though!
Gender: Boy!
Labour signs: Nope!
Symptoms: No symptoms this week really, I had my flu jab at the weekend which I thought would make me feel a bit funny but thankfully it didn’t  I’ve also booked in for Vinny to have his flu vaccination done in a few weeks.
Belly button in or out? In
Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or moody most of the time? I’ve been happy most of the week apart from Saturday during the day, I was just feeling a little frumpy and gross so Saturday afternoon I had a proper pamper session and made myself feel normal again which put me in a great mood for the rest of the night!
Best moment this week: Saturday night was definitely fab, we did our usual and had a cosy night in but with the fireworks going off so much it did keep Vinny awake quite a lot and he was a little scared of the noise so Mark and I went up to Vinnys room, pulled up the blinds and watched the fireworks for a good half an hour or so. It’s family moments like that we will always cherish and remember, next year there will be four of us gazing out that window.
Looking forward to: I’m looking forward to our anomaly scan next week, it seems a little early for the scan as it’s usually done at 20 weeks but I will only be about 18 weeks 5 days so earlier than what we had with Vinny but I don’t think it will be our last scan as we are consultant based because of a previous thyroid problem. I hope it’s not the last time we get to see baby, I love seeing him on the screen bouncing around!

Here is a video about my first trimester, I’ve also included some baby buys, mummy essentials and maternity bits!
