Photography is my favourite part of blogging, don’t get me wrong I love sharing with you new finds and beauty secrets but the imagery behind it really makes me happy. I’m a very visual person so if the photography is right then I’m instantly drawn to a post or feature and today I want to share with you my current on the go photography tips and tricks because recently I have had so many compliments on my photography so I thought it was only right I shared with you some of my photography secrets or not so secrets these are all things that help me with my photography when I’m in a rush and need some great quality snaps either at home or when I’m out and about.

OK so in the Black Friday sales I managed to grab myself an Olympus PEN E-PL7 and if you are a blogger then you will know this is the ultimate blogger camera. I’m that kind of person that doesn’t like to jump into following a trend just because it’s a trend so really tried my best not to buy this camera because I thought it may just be it’s pretty looks making it so popular but oh no this is way more than good looks it’s literally changed my photography life. I think at some point I will have to write a full review for you all because there are just so many things to talk through but let’s just say I have been choosing to take photographs with this for my blog over my Canon 70D which is a pretty big deal, I still use the 70D for self portraits but I think that the more I use the Olympus the more I shall sway to use it for everything. I have a couple of lenses and I would like to get like the 17mm next, if you have any other lenses then do let me know what and how you are getting on with them as I currently have the 14-42mm lens and 45mm lens. This camera is the ultimate travel camera, it’s compact and the fact that you can change the lenses makes life very easy not to mention the wifi feature which allows you to upload straight to your mobile device and share instantly on social media it’s magic!

Making sure your settings are on point is essential when taking the perfect photo, this not only saves time when it comes to editing the photo but also helps you create a beautiful image from the get go which is oh so satisfying! Since buying my PEN I have been so delighted with how much it’s actually reduced my editing time, a lot of the images I upload need barely any tweaks these days which is amazing, the brightness and shadow settings can all be adjusted on the camera and to be honest I learnt all of this from Stylonylon, Julia has a whole bunch of posts on Olympus PEN settings so the first thing I did when I bought the camera was head over to her blog on how to set up your PEN it saved me so much time and has helped me even more to create beautiful shots from the start. This post really helped me when setting up my Olympus PEN: 15 Tips & Tricks For Your Olympus Pen E-PL7

I’m all about accessories and when it comes to camera accessories I’m like a kid in a candy shop, I’ve recently been researching what treats to buy my PEN and a camera bag is definitely on the cards and so perfect for travelling, Olympus have just brought out a whole new fashion range including this gorgeous Leather Shoulder Bag. I always worry if I just pop it in my changing bag that it will get squashed or even worse a little person gets his sticky hands on it… Vinny loves the camera! I have got a camera strap which is ideal for shots on the go, you haven’t got to keep dragging the camera in and out of the bag instead you can pop it around your neck and snap when you need to. The strap I have is a collaboration with Stylonylon and Sail Handmade it’s a gorgeous handcrafted leather strap that’s been made in England and looks absolutely stunning, it’s such great quality and looks amazing.

Spare batteries, spare memory cards.. these are all things you need spares of when your out taking shots on the go. There is literally nothing worse then running out of battery or memory when your in the middle of a shoot, and let me tell you what is even more annoying… Forgetting your battery in the charger on your bedside table, yes that’s happened to me. It’s always a good idea to get organised and ensure you have these extra pieces of kit because they will really make life a whole lot easier in the long term.
