Vinny // Disney Bedtime Stories

disney life appdisney life disney life disney lifedisney lifeSince mid Summer our bedtime routine has changed for Vinny, we used to just bath him and put him straight to bed and because he was such a good sleeper we didn’t really want to ruin that routine by changing it up but I also felt a little mean not reading him a bedtime story as he was beginning to ask us if we would read him a story so one evening we tried it and it’s been a part of our routine ever since. To be honest Vinny sticks to a lot of the same books, he knows what he enjoys and which books daddy can make funny noises too so he usually opts for those but recently we have been switching it up for something even more exciting and using our Disney Life app on the iPad.

Time to Read 1

The Disney Life app is basically an app for all things Disney, you can watch Disney movies, listen to soundtracks, watch short stories and read stories too it’s a really amazing and a very colourful app, I have to say I’ve been a little obsessed with it myself lately. The app is free for one month then it’s £9.99 per month after that and you can use it on iOS and android, some features include: Unlimited streaming in the UK, you can enjoy your favourites on the move (Streaming within the UK or download in the UK before travelling), create up to six profiles so each member of the family can personalise their experience, add up to 10 compatible devices, manage your kids’ time with built-in parental controls, watch movies, TV shows and read books in up to five different languages – English, French, German, Italian and Spanish and there is no in-app purchase costs once you have subscribed which I think is a fantastic feature.

Vinny loves Disney films his favourite are definitely Monsters Inc and Toy Story and what I love about the Disney Life app is that not only you can watch all of these films you can also read the stories too or choose to have the stories read out, there are a whole bunch of different stories on the app and they range from pre school age to junior books which I think is really fantastic. There is a new feature called Time to Read and this has a number of stages including; Stage 1 Reader in training, Stage 2 Beginners, Stage 3 Junior Readers, Stage 4 Confident Readers and Stage 5 Super readers which I think is really great and I can’t wait to see Vinny progress through each stage as he gets older. We have been reading a few of the Bedtime Story Toy Story books to Vinny in the evening before bed and he just loves it, it’s such a new way to read to him and he loves the colourful pictures and swiping from page to page via the iPad. It’s a very cool and new way to read to Vinny but I have to say we have all been enjoying it very much.
