Would you believe it, breakfast is actually my favourite meal of the day and I really look forward to it in the mornings… I’m even thinking about it when I get into bed at night! I tend to be a creature of habit though and have the same thing all the time however I’ve recently found myself browsing for even longer in the cereal aisle and whilst doing my weekly shop I spotted these new cereals by Nestle. I’ve been buying Cheerios for years, it’s one of Vinnys favourite cereals and with him being quite a fussy toddler It makes me so happy when I see him try new things. I thought the Cheerios Oat Crisp cereal would be a great way to get him to try something new and I also really fancied them myself!

Cheerios Oat Crisp is a super healthy breakfast which has been approved by cholesterol charity Heart UK, according to Heart UK over half of adults in the UK have raised cholesterol which is a risk factor in the development of heart disease so I’m super glad it’s been approved and has given me even more reason to try out and enjoy.  One bowl of tasty Cheerios Oat Crisp will provide 1/3 of your recommended intake of beta-glucan and the experts recommend a daily intake of 3g oat beta-glucan to obtain the beneficial cholesterol-lowering effect, it’s definitely a super delicious and nutritious breakfast suitable for the whole family.

I’ve been really enjoying this breakfast lately and I love to add some extra treats to my bowl in the morning, as I mentioned I’m a creature of habit and I always add some raspberries and a banana to my breakfast in the mornings and use almond milk, If I’m feeling extra adventurous I’ll add some strawberries and a teaspoon of Nutella…. they say you should eat like a king for breakfast… everything in moderation right? It’s a very yummy meal for me and I’m absolutely loving this cereal right now, the crunchy flakes are made with whole grain oats and mixed with light and crispy Cheerios they are naturally high in fibre, and low in saturated fat which is something I always look for in cereals.

On mornings where I fancy a hint of sweet spice I’ve been opting for the Cinnamon Oat Crisp, this just adds that extra flavour of Cinnamon and it’s truly delicious. I’m not usually a huge fan of cinnamon but this is not too overpowering in fact it just adds enough flavour to notice and really enjoy it, I’m loving this and I actually find it really moreish which can’t be good for the waistline! I asked Vinny which he preferred and he loved the Cinnamon Oat crisp the best which did surprise me because he usually goes for the blandest foods so I’m really happy that he has tried something new and loves it as much as Mark and I do.

I’d definitely recommend trying the new Cheerios Oat Crisp cereals, the original and Cinnamon are both so yummy I shall be picking up a few more boxes on my next food shop that’s for sure!
