When I became pregnant with Renzo I just knew that I’d need to find some easy ways to get around with a newborn and a toddler when he arrived. I’ve got a buggy board for the pram but sometimes when you just need to pop to the supermarket it’s not always convenient to get the buggy out, add the buggy board and push a trolley at the same time so I just knew I needed something a little more compact and easier to use. Thats where baby wearing comes in, I used to baby wear with Vinny and I loved it. This time round we have started much earlier, Renzo was just a couple of weeks old when we started to baby wear and I have to say it’s been bliss!
The carrier we are using is the BabyBjorn Carrier One Air in a limited edition colour called Ice-Blue. Firstly I’m obsessed with this colour, how gorgeous is it?! If you are a long term reader of my blog you may remember I reviewed the BabyBjorn Carrier One when Vinny was younger, we continued to use that but since then BabyBjorn have brought out a few more carriers and this is the Carrier One Air. What’s different about it you may wonder? As the name suggests it’s made from a soft and airy mesh fabric, a child-friendly material that breathes. I had actually been using the original Carrier One before this had arrived and I can really tell the difference between the two when wearing them, the Carrier One Air is much more lightweight and much cooler to wear which is perfect because the weather has been rather hot lately.
The carrier is very easy to put on, it’s funny how quickly I remembered how to put it on after a couple of years not wearing a carrier. There are extra-padded shoulder straps for comfort and support, there is also good firmness in the waist belt making you feel very secure and safe whilst wearing baby. I love that there are 4 front and back carrying positions, plus the fact that this is good to use from newborn until little one is 3 so there is no need to buy anything else. With Vinny we got though a couple of carriers but with the Carrier One Air it will last you years so totally worth the £144.99 price tag.
Overall we love the Carrier One Air, it’s perfect for both Mark and I and it makes the school run so much easier which as you can imagine with a newborn and a toddler can be rather stressful sometimes especially when you are in a rush!
Did you baby wear? I’d love to know what carrier you used and how you found it.
