5 years ago brows were never something I thought about in my makeup routine, I used to have them waxed every couple of weeks but that was all. To be honest my brows used to be non existent, I used to have them waxed so thin they were barely visible and at the time I thought this looked great but now when I look back at old photos I can’t help but laugh… where were my brows?! Thankfully since I began blogging over three years ago I was introduced to brow products, my first brow pencil was Mac Lingering and I used this for a good year or so before I cam across Benefit Brow Zings and then the Queen of brows Anastasia Beverly Hills. I’ve been hooked on filling my brows since and now I couldn’t leave the house without them, my makeup just doesn’t feel complete without my brows so when I heard that Benefit was launching the new Brow Collection I couldn’t wait to get my hands on them. I eagerly awaited the launch, stalking my favourite YouTube gurus on Snapchat and of course Lisa Potter-Dixon who is head make up artist and brow expert for Benefit. Lisa posted a video as soon as the products launched and spoke about each one and why they are so fabulous, I will tell you now I’m completely obsessed with them so let’s get started and I will tell you why!
There have been a number of new products launched to create the ultimate brow collection and trust me there will be something for you here wether you have thin, thick or sparse brows! From gels to pencils and even brow tools. Let’s go through them all..
Browvo! Conditioning Primer £21.50 What a genius product, we all use primers for our base, eyes, hair and now we can prime our brows to ensure our brow products last all day long. This conditioning primer has been created to prime, condition and it also enhances colour and extends wear. You can apply this before, after or even as an over-night treatment and this is going to make your brows look fuller and healthier so for those girls that over waxed like me when I was younger and need a boost to help grow your brows again this could work really well for you.
Goof Proof brow pencil £18.50 is available in 6 shades and as the name suggests it’s a brow pencil that is going to make your brow filling experience so much easier. It Twists-up, and glides-on with a fabulous waterproof formula that’s soft and so easy to work with. I’m obsessed!
Precisely, My Brow Pencil £18.50 is a double ended brow pencil, similar to Goof Proof but has a thinner pencil which will help to create natural hair line strokes and definition. This again has 12 hour wear and comes in 6 shades.
Powders and Gels
Brow Zings £24.50 The product that changed my brow game in the first place, this is an old product but a very good one re-launched in the fabulous brand new packaging and now comes with a new extendable double ended brush which is fab for travelling. This shaping and taming kit includes a powder and a wax to create full and defined brows in an instance, I’m so glad there are new shades in this fab little compact because the newest shade number 2 works with my brows perfectly!
KA-Brow! £18.50 Now this is was the product I was most excited about, not only does it look fabulous but it also feel fabulous to apply! This cream-gel formula reminded me of the ABH Dipbrow Pomade, a product that I love a lot but I actually think I prefer KA-Brow! because it’s a little softer and easier to work with. I like that this is buildable, it’s not too intense which is a problem I had with the ABH Dipbrow and it really works well at giving me a defined bold brow. It also comes with an extendable brush that is actually disguised in the lid, so clever and perfect for travel!
Brow Setters and enhancers
Gimme Brow £18.50 If you need a product to add volume to your brows then this is for you, Gimme Brow is a tinted brush on gel with micro fibres that help to create fuller looking brows in an instance. It’s ideal for lazy brow days because it tames and adds a little bit of colour, this comes in 3 fabulous shades!
Ready, Set, Brow! £18.50 Don’t want any fuss but want your brows to stay put all day? You need Ready, Set, Brow! a clear brow gel that locks on brow makeup and keeps those pesky hairs where they should be.
3D-Browtones £18.50 Now tell me, do you highlight or lowlight your hair? I do, so what about my brows? Yep you can do that too with 3D-Browtones! Say goodbye to flat drawn on looking brows, use 3D-Browtones for subtle brow-enhancing highlights. This formula is almost metallic and is honestly amazing, I love the way it adds that extra bit of dimension to my brows and it makes them look super healthy too.
High Brow £17.50 If you are a true Benefit fan you’ve probably already tried High Brow, a beautiful soft pink highlighting pencil that goes under the brow to create definition. This soft pink shade creates a natural finish that makes the brows pop and look complete, I never miss this step because it makes such a difference to the ways my brows look.
High Brow Glow £17.50 The newest edition to the High Brow collection is High Brow Glow, this is one to buy if you want to add shimmer and shine! I’m obsessed with this pencil, it’s a champagne shade that looks stunning under the brow bone, on the inner tear duct area and even in the water line to make your eyes look more awake and bright.
Benefit has really thought about every brow situation and have also brought out some tools to help you along the way; the grooming tweezer and brush £15.50, an Angled Brow Brush & Spoolie £15.50 and the All-Purpose Sharpener £4.00. I mean wow, what a collection! My favourite combination is Precisely my brow pencil, KA-Brow! and 3D-Brow tones although I think I’ve tried almost all of the products at once and still love the finish! You can never have too many brow products right?
