As the years have gone on, I’ve come to realise just how important it is to take care of my skin. It hasn’t always been that way and I’m quite ashamed of that, but in the past couple of years I’ve really upped my skincare and I’ve also introduced SPF into my daily routine. I have to admit when I was younger and off on my holidays I used to opt for the lowest SPFs and pretty much burn my skin to a crisp, I suffered with sun burn on many occasions which also ended up peeling away making my skin look like a crocodile which of course isn’t the best look. I wanted to share with you today a brand I have been using over the past few months and why I love it so much, it’s a brand we’ve been using as a family and will continue to do so all year round.
Ladival is the brand I’d like to introduce to you all today, it’s the latest revolution in sun care and was the first mainstream brand to protect against harmful Infrared-A rays, as well as both UVA and UVB. Infrared-A makes up a third of the sun’s damaging rays and it’s the most deeply penetrating which is quite a scary thought as Infrared-A rays cause both short and long-term skin damage – so it’s super important that we have the right creams to keep our skin fully protected. Luckily, Ladival offers protection against four times more of the sun’s rays than standard UVA and UVB sunscreens.
I’ve been using factor 50 lotion on my face daily and I have to say it’s been such an easy step to add into my skincare routine and it has really put my mind at ease. The lotion itself is actually a gel lotion that sinks into the skin effortlessly, it has a unique non greasy formula which is fantastic because I have combination skin so I’m prone to oily patches and I really didn’t want to use a lotion that would accentuate that. It’s also perfect for those with sensitive skin as it’s free from perfume, colourants, preservatives and emulsifiers. I’ve also been using the spray version on my skin, the weather has been so lovely lately so I’ve just been popping it onto the areas on my skin that are exposed to the sun and with it being a spray it’s super easy and quick to apply. It’s been working really well on my skin and even my husband has been using it too, I’ve always got some Ladival sun care in our bags, I have one in my handbag, one in the kids bag and I’ve even popped one into Mark’s cricket bag!
Talking of kids, Ladival also have a kids range which is fantastic. I’m all for protection and making sure my little ones are fully protected after all they do have the most delicate skin. There are creams and sprays to choose from, making application super easy and again it has a non-greasy formula that is extra water-resistant and gives immediate protection, it’s perfect for those that have little ones. There is nothing more annoying than popping sunscreen onto your children and for them to run off playing in the sand for them to come back covered in the stuff. This really feels like they are not wearing anything but adding all of the protection they need. Vinny has quite sensitive skin and this has worked so well on it, not irritating it at all, and it’s actually a very moisturising cream which leaves all of our skin feeling well hydrated and smooth. I love that the creams are water resistant, we do reapply often but it’s nice to know that when Vinny is playing in the water he is still fully protected and that is a huge plus for us. We haven’t ever experienced prickly heat or sun allergies but it’s great to know that Ladival is these are suitable for those people that suffer, and Ladival Kids is even proven to be suitable for skin with eczema, which sounds like a major breakthrough to me!
I’d highly recommend the Ladival range, you can purchase it from Boots & Asda and Ladival have also given me the opportunity to host a competition for three of my lovely readers to win a set of Ladival products. This will run for two weeks and all you need to do is enter the Raflecopter below.
Good Luck and remember to apply your SPF every day (even when it’s cloudy) in order to stop those sun rays ageing your skin!
