Maybelline Master Contour V Shape Duo Stick

maybelline contour v stickI recently did a little Boots and Primark beauty haul and shared it on my YouTube channel. It was about time I bought some new drugstore products. I rarely get time to have a good ol’ rummage through the beauty aisles when I’m with the boys so when I had a quick five minutes I picked up a few new bits. The one product I was most excited to try was the Maybelline Master Contour V Shape Duo. You all know that as well as self tanning I also love to highlight and contour, these are my three main things in beauty so when I saw this fab two in one product I just had to give it a try.

This Maybelline Duo reminds me of the Clinique chubby sticks, except it’s two products in one; a highlight and a contour shade. All you need to do to use this product is swipe onto the face with one side of the stick to contour and use the other side to highlight. Simply blend and you are ready to go! It really is as simple as that and I’ve even created a little video demonstration to show you just how easy it is to use which you can view here.

With regards to the formula it’s very creamy and doesn’t dry out too quick. This is really great because it gives you time to apply the contour and highlight to the areas you want without having to rush. You can blend it out taking your time to ensure it is all blended seamlessly and it really does leave you with a gorgeous natural finish.

What I love about this product is that it’s buildable, you can apply one layer for a nice daytime look or you can layer it again for a more intense evening look. I say intense, it still looks very natural but sculpted. I love to pop the highlighter under my cheekbone contour to really give that polished look and sharpen up the lines. You can see me demonstrate that in my video, it makes a huge difference and it’s something I do a lot now when highlighting and contouring.

The one thing I will say is that if you end up liking one shade over the other it may be a little difficult to use as you run out of the one side you like. I’m happy using both shades so I consciously use them both equally when doing my makeup to avoid an uneven shape forming. Apart from that small criticism I think it’s a great product. The shades are very nice, the contour shade being cool toned making it perfect for shading and the highlight a nice creamy shade that can be layered for a brighter effect.
