I spend a lot of time at home and I also spend a lot of time cleaning, cooking and tidying up. I definitely take pride in having a really tidy, clean house and when you have children that is a task in itself. I like to create a sense of calmness and serenity in the home and fragrance is a great way to do that. Trust me when you have children it’s rather difficult to create a calm tranquil space, but this definitely keeps me more relaxed during those quiet nap times and in the evening.
In the past I’ve used candles to keep my home smelling nice. I’ve not really wanted to delve into using those plug-in scents that are available just because when you have small children it’s not the safest thing to have around. For that reason candles have been the trick to our home smelling lovely over the past few years. There are a number of ways to keep your house smelling beautiful though and we were recently introduced to the Molton Brown Home Fragrance collection and oh wow this is going to take my home scent to a whole new level. I don’t know about you but I had no idea that Molton Brown even had a home collection, I’ve always used their bath and body products but now I’ve tried the home collection I’m excited to try more.
The new products I have been trying are from the Coco & Sandalwood collection, I’ve been trying it over the weekend and wow. This is a brand new fragrance from Molton Brown and was inspired by the serenity and peacefulness of a balmy morning on a Filipino beach. It’s a beautiful fragrance with a fresh creamy coconut top note, a comforting Sandalwood base note and a heart note of Jasmine. I really love it, it’s refreshing with a soft floral twist to it. Not overpowering at all yet leaves the room smelling beautiful, the scent lingers for hours and it hits you softly as you enter the room.
The Home range is made up of three products, a candle which is available in two sizes, a Home & Linen Mist and also a Reed Diffuser. You all know I love a candle and this one is simply stunning. How beautiful is the white glass packaging? It has a gloss finish to it with matte detailing which I think is so simple and chic. All of these products have beautiful packaging and that is usually a huge selling point for me, I love to buy things for my home that are pretty simplistic and the colour palette of this collection; white and silver is the exact thing I go for.
Now onto two products I’ve never tried in my home, a Room Fragrance and a Reed Diffuser. These are things I’ve always bought as gifts for others but never for myself and to be honest the reason for that is I’ve just never found the scent that I was after. I’m quite specific with scents, I don’t like anything too sickly or too strong. I found with a lot of room fragrances they can be quite overpowering and just not my thing but these are beautiful, as you know by now I’m obsessed with this Coco and Sandalwood fragrance so I will take one of everything please! They even have bath and shower products, so dreamy.
The Room Fragrance is so lovely, I think I need one to keep in every room just so it’s always there although one spritz is definitely enough. When I first got the Mist I sprayed it three times and there really was no need because one spritz of this beauty and you will be smelling it for hours. The Reed Diffuser is also fab, I pop some of the sticks around the house. I like to keep one by our entrance and in the hallways to keep the scent flowing throughout our home and it works amazing.
If you are looking for some new products to create a beautiful fragrance in your home I’d definitely recommend giving this collection a whirl from Molton Brown. Fragrances are definitely a personal choice and we all have different likes and dislikes but I don’t think you will be disappointed with this, it’s beautiful!
