If you follow me on Social Media then you will know we’ve just got back from a weekend away in Cornwall. We have had this planned for a few months now and couldn’t wait to visit. I’ve been talking a lot about the fact that I’d love to travel more with the boys from small UK adventures to far away trips abroad and whilst searching online for family friendly hotels in the UK I came across the Bedruthan Hotel. I wanted somewhere I could take the boys with ease and I also wanted to make sure there was enough going on for Vinny to keep him occupied. I was absolutely delighted when we got invited to visit, today I’m going to talk you through our weekend break and what we thought of it.
The Bedruthan offers a number of different packages when staying at the hotel, we opted for the Toddler Break which suited us perfectly. It is inspired by fresh air with plenty of time to play and explore as a family but also time to be together as adults. During this stay they offer free two hour sessions in childcare clubs for each day you stay, plus you get £30 per adult and £7.50 per child every day to spend on food anytime (in addition to breakfast).

First up let’s talk accommodation, we stayed in a Family Seaview Villa which couldn’t have been more perfect. From the moment I stepped through the door I was amazed, the view…. this made the whole trip for us. I can’t tell you how beautiful it was, it was so hard to capture it in an image but all I can say is that it was truly breathtaking. Our Villa had sliding doors which opened up onto a garden and play area including a trampoline, a Wendy house and much, much more. Vinny was extremely pleased.
Upon arrival we were greeted by friendly staff and faces. We were told our villa was downstairs, there was no lifts to this area and the staff saw that we had the buggy with us. The receptionist called a porter to help us get down to our room, she told us just to ask if there was anything we needed, anything, even nappies! I was seriously impressed! The rooms are all extremely clean, the decor is very fresh and colourful and there was so much space.
What I love about this hotel is that you really don’t need to take much for the kids, they have everything from sterilisers to bouncers and even wellington boots ready for your little ones to explore the outdoors![df_divider_text title=”Food & Drink ” title_align=”separator_align_center” el_width=”100″ style=”solid” accent_color=”#EEEEEE” padding=”20px 0″ position=”align_center” el_class=”” border_t_width=”2px”]
Food. This was something I was a little nervous about, I can’t say we often go out for food with the boys and the thought of going into a restaurant or a cafe makes me a little nervous but we needn’t be nervous because the Wild Cafe was fabulous and the most family friendly place we’ve been in! Upon arrival the waiter asked me if we needed anything, such as a highchair or bouncer for Renzo which was really great. The bouncer we asked for was very clean and comfortable, it made it really easy for us to eat comfortably and feel relaxed knowing Renzo was looked after.
The food was delicious, there wasn’t a huge choice on the menu but everything on there was something we’d eat and we did enjoy the food we received. On the first night we actually got room service, Mark and I ordered a Pizza, we also got sweet potato fries for a side dish and Vinny enjoyed a meal of his own too.
I really liked the High Tea that was put on for children between 4pm & 6pm, this was a selection of hot and cold foods laid out especially for the little ones. It was really nice that Vinny got to choose what he wanted and the food choice was really nice including fresh fruit, yoghurts, vegetables and much, much more.
Although we only went to the Wild Cafe there is also The Herring which I believe is adults only. As we had the children we didn’t go to The Herring but it did look very nice.

On Saturday the weather wasn’t too good, there were quite a few showers although in-between it was glorious sunshine. For that reason we decided to stay in the hotel all day and to be honest it was really easy to because there is so much to do. After breakfast we headed down to the pool which was so lovely. The changing area was very clean and very spa like, the pool itself was very warm and super relaxing. Vinny and Mark had a really nice swim whilst Renzo and I watched them chilling in the comfy seating area.
In the afternoon we headed down to the Jungle Tumble soft play area, this was surprisingly big. I didn’t expect it to be so big for a hotel soft play area, it was very clean and there was lots of play areas including a ball pit, slides and a comfy quiet area which is where Renzo and I enjoyed relaxing.

- Indoor and outdoor children’s pools
- Games room
- Teenage room
- Jungle Tumble indoor soft play area
- Outdoor play areas for all ages, including a zip wire, assault course and trampoline for older children
- In-room baby listening service
- Equipment hire – baby backpacks, all-terrain strollers, sterilisers, cots and more

We didn’t use the babysitting or baby listening service so sadly we were unable to enjoy the spa or relaxation areas. I’d really like to visit in the future with Mark so that we could experience this though because it looked amazing and I’d love to have one of the Spa treatments for pure relaxation.
Overall we had an amazing stay at the Bedruthan Hotel, I’d highly recommend it if you are looking for somewhere extremely child friendly and luxurious. If you’d like to see a little more of our trip you can watch our vlog, it captured some real family moments that are going to be so special to look back on.
