Ah the Christmas table setting, not something I’ve paid much attention to over the years but something I wanted to make more effort with this year. For the past few years since Vinny was born we’ve had Christmas at our house, this year Mark and I are cooking and I wanted to create a really nice Christmas feel to the room by adding some festive touches. Here is how I’m making our table nice and festive this Christmas and how you can too.
Nectar have challenged me again and this time instead of fashion it was interiors, I picked some gorgeous pieces from Laura Ashley whilst shopping through the Nectar website and I managed to bag myself 200+ points at the same time. It’s so amazing that you can get rewarded for shopping and there are so many stores you can shop at via the site; House of Fraser, Next, Laura Ashley, Cath Kidston, Habitat and so many more. I’m really happy with how my table setting turned out and it was really simple to do also.
As you can see my table before was just plain, bland and not very Christmassy at all! I wanted to get some pieces that would be timeless and that would suit my style. Our theme has changed over the years but this is a style I plan to keep for many years. It’s simple yet chic with a touch of sparkle. Just what I love! My top tip would be to take a risk and try shop for these items as close to Christmas as you can, the reason for this is because a lot of these were actually on sale and I managed to get most of these at a discounted price.
To decorate the table I picked up this gorgeous beaded table runner. This is something we could use for any special occasion. It’s a really great piece and I also love that it is quite a short runner so it’s nice and central on our table. I also grabbed a few different candles, these look like ornaments and are very pretty indeed. I won’t be burning them though, these are just for show and something I can reuse each year. Oh and the wine glasses, such a beautiful design with a vintage yet modern feel to them. I’m in love.
Lighting is also really important when setting the table and I thought this tree light was so gorgeous. I also got the lit winter wreath which is currently in the sale for just £27! This also lights up and both are battery operated which is fantastic, no unsightly wires hanging around anywhere. They really make the table and add that extra twinkle don’t you think?
To finish our Christmas table I added some sparkly crackers because it’s not a festive table without some Christmas crackers now is it? I love these, and can’t wait to see what’s inside them when we open them on Christmas day. I hope you enjoyed seeing our Christmas table set up, I have a few more pieces to get like new cutlery and a dinnerware set but apart from that we are done! I’d love to know how you add a festive feel to your dining room during the winter months.
Do you shop through Nectar to earn points too? I love earning points whilst I shop!
