If you follow me on social media and watch my YouTube channel you will be aware that I’m taking part in VLOGMAS this year (watch my VLOGMAS videos here). I know, I’m a little crazy and when I published my announcement video explaining that I was doing it I did squeal a little, with fear. In my announcement video I explained that I would be blogging less this month to vlog more and that’s exactly what I’ve done. I’ve only planned posts that were already planned and have just carried on with YouTube but do you know what? I’ve missed it, and for that reason I’m back today with an old school “What’s in my makeup bag” kind of post.
It’s been quite a busy month already; school plays, Christmas shopping and of course vlogging so I’ve tried to keep my makeup simple but I have also been wearing little more than usual because if you saw me first thing in the morning you’d know why. I’ve also wanted to make a little more effort with my eye makeup and have been gravitating towards a few palettes that have been completely rocking my world.
I have been particularly loving the Zoeva Rose Golden palette. You all know I love a warm shadow or ten so this palette is perfect but the shade I have really been loving which may be a shock to you is Harmony which is a cool toned purple, slate shade if you will. It’s pretty gorgeous and I’ve been wearing this alone smoked out to the crease or with a couple of the other shades from the palette Rusty Petals and Luster. To be honest I love all of the shades but this combo has been my go-to this month.
Also on the eyes I have been loving this About Lash Night trio from Marc Jacobs Beauty. If you want to add a bit of sparkle to your eye look but don’t want the fuss of eyeshadows then you must try this mascara wardrobe. Included is a one of Marc’s most coveted mascara O!MEGA Lash, which gives the lashes length, volume and definition and then what I’ve been doing is layering the Lamé Noir on the lower lashes. This is a gold glitter mascara that is of course the perfect addition to any mascara wardrobe during the party season. The Highliner Gel Eye Crayon is also rather lovely, super gentle on the eyes and very pigmented indeed!
Base products have been minimal but I’ve rediscovered a few things and also have been trying some new bits too. The foundation is something I got last year and I love it, it’s the MUFE Ultra HD foundation // (full review here). I’ve been using this to give me a flawless lightweight finish and then setting in place with the Collection Primed & Ready Illuminating Powder. If you are looking for a powder to give you a serious glow I’d highly recommend this, my skin looks so radiant after I use this.
Concealer is a repurchase of mine, I have been wanting to repurchase this for months now and when I saw it in Boots the other day I just had to grab it. When I used it again I realised just how much I loved it and asked myself why it had taken so long to buy again. What concealer you may be wondering? The Maybelline Age Rewind Eye Eraser Concealer of course! I use the shade Light and it’s the perfect shade for brightening up the under eye and making me look more awake. Love!
The last base product I’ve been loving is the Primark Contour palette, guys this was like £6 and I’ve used it non stop since I bought it. You may have seen it in my Primark Haul video, you can see it in action in my Testing Primark makeup video.
I actually have quite a few lip products although they are all very similar. When you have adult braces you kind of like to keep the attention away from the lips so I’ve been using quite neutral shades which you all know I love anyway. My current favourites are by MAC; Velvet Teddy, Brave and Clinique Lip Pop in the shade 23 Blush Pop this is my current favourite because it’s like Velvet Teddy and Brave mixed together with a more moisturising formula. Finally for keeping my lips soft I’ve been using an old favourite, a cheap but a goody and that is Carmex lip balm. I love the stuff!
