We’ve just come back from a wonderful weekend in Bath and today I want to tell you all about it. I have made it my goal to explore the UK more with the boys this year. I’d love to travel more and I hope to take them abroad at some point but for now we are taking full advantage the beautiful places and locations we have here in the UK. Bath has always been somewhere I wanted to visit, Mark and I often spoke about visiting one day and when the opportunity came up we jumped at the chance. We were kindly invited by Bath Boutique Stays to stay in one of their properties for a weekend and we chose to visit in January. I think it’s so nice to have something look forward to after Christmas and we were really excited about this trip.
We stayed in Jane Austen’s Home which has been converted into luxury apartments. Our apartment was on the second floor and it was called Mr Darcy’s apartment. We actually stayed in Jane Austen’s bedroom which was so surreal. This apartment had one master bedroom, shower room and washroom. It also had an open plan kitchen diner and was fully equipped with views over the Holburne Museum. The views were absolutely stunning. There were also some beautiful extras included such as fine cotton bedding, Cowshed amenities, their own branded coffee, Jane Austen tea and bespoke scented candles. The candle was lit when we arrived which made the whole place smell wonderful. It was very warm and welcoming.
Travelling with kids can be rather stressful. There is always so much to think about and so many things you need to take, Bath Boutique Stays made sure we had all we needed when it came to our sleeping arrangements which made things so much easier for us. We were provided with a lovely travel cot and a highchair which freed up some space in the car and everything was so clean and pretty much new which is very important for me when staying somewhere.
Something I didn’t really consider when booking this apartment is how much stuff we would have. The bags were fine but staying on a second floor apartment in a rather large Georgian house means many stairs. Luckily we had Mark on hand to take the pushchair up and down the stairs but I think when we plan to visit again we will opt for a whole house or a ground floor apartment for extra ease. Bath Boutique Stays have many properties available and great packages for hen and spa weekends too. I’d love to book a spa weekend with Mark, this is something we’d like to do next. Just us.
Overall we had an amazing time in Bath. I’d highly recommend Bath Boutique Stays they really do go above and beyond for their guests. The property was central meaning everything was just a short walk away, and we really got to explore during our stay.
If you’d like to see what we got up to whilst we were in Bath and also watch the apartment tour you can watch this video below. I hope you enjoy it as much as we do.
Have you been to Bath before? I’d love to know what you thought of it or if you are planning a visit.
