Current Favourites // Beauty & Bath

This is a bit of a late post but as I didn’t film a July favourites this month I thought I’d do a little round up post of a few of my favourite products for the month of July and early August. There aren’t too many makeup items as I’ve been wearing quite minimal makeup but there are a few staples I’ve just had to use this month and a few pamper essentials too.
Let’s start with the pamper products, I have really been enjoying a lovely bubble bath lately it’s just my time to relax and have some much needed ‘me’ time so I have been having more bubble baths and I have been so obsessed with bath products lately. My favourite range is actually by Zoella, I’ve been using Soak Opera for a few months now but a new recent love is the Zoella Fresh Fizz Fragranced Bath Fizzer, you simply pop one of the fragranced cubes into the bath and let it Fizz away. To be honest I don’t feel many benefits from it apart from my skin being little softer but the fragrance is so gorgeous I always feel so pampered after using it. I’ve also been using a new shower gel by Roger & Gallet, this is new to the R&G family and is called the Bienfaits shower gel. It’s Inspired by a stroll in a Calabrian garden, it’s said to stimulate the senses and has been proven to alleviate stress which is a must have for any mummy! It has a blend of citrus fruits blends juicy blood orange with mandarin, bergamot and lemon, it’s also sulphate-free with added aloe vera to soothe and moisturise it’s a very gentle shower gel with a gorgeous powerful scent that lingers for hours after use.
Next up we have a few beauty tools that I have been using for a few months now and have become a staple when applying lips products, this Karla Powell Lip Brush set has been a fabulous multi-tasking little set. I have been using these brushes to create a crisper line when applying bold lipsticks and also to tidy up around the lips with concealer. The set consists of three brushes KL1; the filling brush, KL2; the precision brush & KL3; the cupids bow brush. KL2 is my favourite brush as I find it the easiest to work with, it’s a great all rounder. Karla has done an amazing job creating these brushes, the design is sleek and the brushes are easy to hold and control I’d definitely recommend if you struggle when it comes to lipstick, and liquid lipstick application.
Finally a few beauty items I have been loving lately, as you all know I have been keeping my makeup minimal but two products I can’t live without on a day to day basis are lip balm and concealer as long as I have these two items I’m pretty good to go I can quickly moisturise my face in the morning add my new favourite Bobbi Brown lip balm and add some AmazingConcealer and I’m pretty much ready. I’m pretty obsessed with lip balms, I have so many and I used to love the plain ol’ Vaseline pots but I did find they didn’t last long and tend to just slip off my lips after about half an hour. I recently switched my lip balm routine up and went high end, I’ve been using the Bobbi Brown lip balm from Fragrance Direct for about a month now and it’s love. This balm not only moisturises my lips but also stays put for much longer than my usual Vaseline. The texture is still balmy but a little tougher with a slight waxy feel hence why it lasts a little longer, it keeps my lips super soft most of the day and I love using this before any lipstick application too as it creates the perfect base.
As long as my lips look nice and soft and my skin looks great then I’m pretty happy to leave the house looking pretty bare, but how do I keep my skin looking great apart from a good skincare routine? Concealer of course! I have been using AmazingConcealer on days when I have quite a few blemishes because this stuff seriously hides anything, it’s like camouflage! The texture is very thick so you only need the tiniest amount to cover blemishes, I find it’s best to use thin layers rather than just a thick dollop of concealer this ensures you get the best cover possible and don’t overload the area. I really love this concealer because my blemishes tend to go a little dry and horrible after a few days but this concealer is actually pretty moisturising and has a slight glow to it’s finish which is pretty gorgeous. I like to set this concealer with a powder to avoid creasing and it’s been working really well for me on days where I need to get rid of those pesky blemishes and dark circles!
What have you been loving for the past month, anything you’ve seen here that you fancy picking up?
