It’s about time we all spruce up our homes for the new season and today I’m are focusing on living room decor, want to know what’s hot this SS16? Keep on reading for some home inspiration! Each and every year I love switching things up in our home to suit the season and this year is no different, we recently redecorated our lounge so it was the perfect time to get Spring ready and we have picked out some lovely pieces from Laura Ashley to create the perfect SS16 vibe. The theme in our living room is made up of cool tones and chic accessories along with some gorgeous soft touches that can work throughout the year so let me talk you through the pieces and what you could be adding to your home this year.
I took some inspiration from the Harbour Collection which is a beautiful, serene palette of seaspray blue and camomile alongside natural tones and cream hues to create a clean coastal feel. It’s a very nautical range that’s still subtle and fresh, I’ve added some key pieces to really bring the room together and I think it works beautifully. I’m all about soft yet bright colours, I love bringing a room to life and creating a lovely relaxing space for my family I’ve always been a fan of interiors and since getting our new home I’ve definitely had a lot of fun creating lovely spaces and rooms in our home.
I’m so in love with our Water Meadow Framed Print, we struggled for a while to find the perfect piece to fit this space and I wanted something that would work well throughout the year, we did originally have a canvas print of Vinny which was pretty colourful but I’ve now moved this to another room as I feel this print works a lot better in this room. I think the blue and grey colour palette works really well in our lounge and the print really reminds me of where we live in a gorgeous part of the country, Devon. A very peaceful and relaxing piece that looks beautiful in our home. When baby number two arrives I plan to take some lovely photos of the boys and I will then get some printed in black and white to pop in some silver or grey frames to go on the other wall in our living room, I also adore the clock we’ve added beneath it with a matching grey colour palette and chic Laura Ashley script detailed on the face it really brings this corner of the room together and works beautifully.
Scatter cushions are the easiest things to really change up a room for the season, checked and quilted cushions during the winter with chunky knit details and big buttons and when the weather starts to change it’s time to switch up to something a little brighter and softer. The Farah Seaspray Cushion is the perfect addition to our sofa with a contemporary jacquard criss-cross design it’s not only adding a comfortable touch to our living space but it’s also giving that modern and sophisticated street style.
Finally another thing that works all year round is flowers, but how many vases do you own, quite a few right but nothing as cool as this Clear Glass Bud Vase. Such a beautiful way to display your flowers and really make a feature of them, it really does create a focus and think how beautifully you can decorate throughout the year with flowers from each season, I chose some gorgeous yellow roses to pop in our vase because it goes gorgeous with our print behind it and I think they are also very spring appropriate!

So there you have it, a quick Spring update for our home that’s fresh and elegant. I love how just a few simple pieces can really bring a room together!
