Murad MattEffect Blotting Perfector Review

murad blotting perfector murad blotting perfector Let’s talk about my skin, its combination. I have oily areas, stubborn dry areas and some normal areas. As many of you know I do have Botox and ever since having this I’ve noticed my forehead does appear more shiny throughout the day, that’s probably due to the lack of wrinkles in that area now and the added smoothness but this is a little frustrating so I’ve been trying out a new product by Murad to keep the area matt throughout the day and it’s been working like a dream.

The MattEffect Blotting Perfector & Mattifying Primer is the product I’m talking about today and this is new from Murad. When I first received this product I did think it was rather peculiar looking, I wondered how you’d use it and how it would work as it is a cushion compact and it’s a wet formula. How does a wet formula stop you from looking oily? I wondered. It is actually filled with many very clever ingredients, Marshmallow Powder being one of them. This ingredient selectively absorbs oil from the skin, but not water, preventing skin dehydration. Clever right? The formula also contains Pomegranate Extract which is packed full of anti-oxidants, making this a skin friendly alternative to a pressed powder.

murad blotting perfector There are a number of ways you can use this Blotting Perfector. You can start off by using it as a primer before you apply any makeup, it instantly blurs pores which I found really impressive. It instantly smooths out the skin and makes it feel super soft, if you are having a no makeup day but still want that matte effect then just use this.

muradYou can also use this as a replacement to your usual blotting papers, I don’t use these just because they can be a bit of a faff but this is much quicker and easier to use and I imagine it will last much longer too. Then finally you can use it to set makeup for up to 8 hours of long-lasting oil control, and use throughout the day when desired. It won’t mess up your makeup in any way because the cooling, antimicrobial applicator is very gentle on the skin.

Overall I think this is a great product if you suffer from combination – oily skin, it will really transform the way you apply your makeup and how it lasts throughout the day.
